Anita's Story
Community of Support
I felt overwhelmed with a newborn and beginning a catechist's masters program. How was I going to giggle a baby on my hip and the requirements of this intense program?
The answer lay in the other catechists. They took turn holding my baby and babbling with him. They gave me much needed advice and helping me grow as a mom and a catechist. When I was confused by the children in my atrium, they were there to walk with me through my confusion. When I needed help with training assistants, supporting parents with questions, having hard conversations with others, they were there.
Now my children are nearly grown. I happily hold other's babies, ponder deep theological ideas in community, have conversations about the practical needs of the children in my atria and classrooms.
I couldn't have made it without community.
